The Quantum Industry Rocketry Lab is a concept to bring together individuals, groups and families that have a common interest in hobby rocketry and aerospace activities.
Established in Covid-19 pandemic 2020, Quantum Industry Rocketry Lab promotes amateur rocketry as a tool for teaching mathematics & the physical sciences through our innovative & hands-on flight opportunity programs.
The Quantum Industry Rocketry Lab, or QIRL, was originally an informal union of rocketry enthusiasts in Amsterdam/Amstelveen area. Membership is open to anyone ages 9 and up.
Our mission is to educate the public in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through the use of amateur rocketry; and to foster rocket technology by supporting model rocketeers both groups and individuals, hobbyists, student groups, businesses, and to help you get the most out of amateur rocketry.
Adventures in model, sport and amateur rocketry begins here in Amsterdam/Amstelveen area with QIRL.

You, your family and friends are welcome at any of our event. Join us for a great time of flying rockets and rocket talk. Bring your kids and or grand kids to these events and introduce them to the excitement of model and amateur rocketry. Scout groups, school groups, and other groups are welcome to join us as well (in accordance with Covid-19 regulations in the area).
Some of our members emphasize scale modeling and fine detail in their projects while others care more for brute force and sheer power. Some rockets are very simple in their design and use basic single parachute recovery systems. Other rockets are extremely complex using clustered or staged motors, advanced electronics, multiple parachute events and even radio control and on-board video transmission. Whatever your particular interest in hobby rocketry, QIRL can contribute.
By following strict safety codes, rocketry is one of the safest of recreational activities, rocketry is an activity enjoyed by families and enthusiasts of all ages. Members of QIRL come from a variety of backgrounds and share one common interest — launching rockets!
